Our Roots
Our founder Chef Ben Bebenroth gave his grandfather Carl a powerful nickname at a very young age; "Boom."
Boom was always working in the yard or the garage, fixing a neighbor’s car, or teaching someone something about life. He grew up in the Great Depression, served as a World War II veteran, worked as a Union electrician with Local 38, and tirelessly advocated for the community. Boom was Chef Ben's inspiration for the way forward after the 2020 Covid lockdown led him to close his award-winning restaurant, Spice Kitchen + Bar, after eight years of operation.
"How did Boom do all he did in life? He was born of such hard times..."
And that was it: “Get back on your feet, kid.” That was the message that Chef Ben heard from beyond the grave.
Today we carry Boom's values and lessons on in our culture and actions.
Treat people with respect, invest in yourself and your community, be thoughtful about your process, and take pride in your actions.

We are honored to have been named “Best New Restaurant” of 2023 with our first store in Lakewood. Our pizza has been established as best in class (winning multiple awards in the process)!
Our self-serve beer coolers, abundant NA options, fun + flavorful salads + apps, and of course our “slow and low” fermented dough create a pizza experience you won’t soon forget. The team and the dining room ooze a hip, family-friendly vibe that allows the week to melt away like mozzarella in our 595-degree oven!
